First released in 2002, Lilo & Stitch was a Disney animated film that followed the life of an orphaned Hawaiian girl named Lilo and a extraterrestrial creature Experiment 626 that Lilo adopts and renames Stitch. They develop a close bond, and work together to stop Stitch from being recaptured. 

Lilo & Stitch was nominated for Best Animated Feature at the 75th Academy Awards and its success ushered in Lilo & Stitch: The Series, the 2003 animated television show that so many children grew up watching. 

Lilo & Stitch now have their own live-action film releasing on May 23, 2025. The new film is a remake of the original 2002 Disney animated feature.
