Created by Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby, Black Panther first appeared in Fantastic Four #52 in July 1966. Black Panther debuted several years before the Falcon (1969), Luke Cage (1972), and Blade (1973), making him the first African protagonist of mainstream American comics. While he has super strength and super speed, Black Panther is also an incredibly talented scientist, inventor, and strategist known for outmaneuvering his enemies.
